# Connect and manage Shopify apps

Use the correct Partner organization and app identity for your Shopify source.

## What you need

The Partner organization ID, its Partner API access token and the numeric Shopify Partner app ID. Keep the access token private.

## Steps

1. Open **Manage apps** and add the app name and numeric app ID. Additional apps reuse the workspace’s Partner organization/token; confirm the app belongs to that source. The app ID is represented internally as `gid://partners/App/<numeric ID>`.
2. Save and allow connection validation/sync to run. Open the app’s settings and inspect source observations and Shopify history.
3. Give each app an unambiguous name. Use the app page’s HeyCrust UUID for backend identification and events; do not substitute the numeric Shopify app ID.
4. Review plan aliases on the app page when Shopify plan names need consistent display labels. Updating a label does not change the merchant’s Shopify subscription.

## Expected result

An app record associated with the correct Partner source. Installs, subscription events and transactions can be synchronized; merchant contact and product usage remain separate sources.

## Identifiers at a glance

| Value | Used for |
| --- | --- |
| HeyCrust app UUID | App-scoped events, identification, API filters and MCP `appId` |
| Numeric Shopify app ID / Partner App GID | Partner source and signed install claim `numericAppId` |
| Shopify client ID (`api_key`) | Listing GA4 app identity and App Bridge audience |
| Numeric GA4 property and stream IDs | Listing export validation |
| GA4 `G-...` measurement ID | Shopify listing tracking settings |

See [Credentials and identifiers](/docs/developers/credentials).

## Troubleshooting

If credentials are rejected, check the organization and app belong together and inspect Partner API permissions. If app usage is absent, use the Developers setup; a working Partner source does not prove the browser snippet is installed.
