# Your first workspace

Connect your Shopify app and verify the sources before operating a program.

## What you need

A Shopify app, access to its Partner organization and Partner API credentials. An owner account manages the workspace; a partner account joins affiliate programs.

## Steps

1. Open [Create workspace](/onboard). Enter your company, email and password, then the Partner organization ID, API access token, numeric app ID and app name. Review the linked terms and privacy policy before submitting.
2. In **Manage apps**, open the app and inspect its source status. Allow the initial Shopify sync to finish; inspect failures rather than treating an empty report as zero activity.
3. Follow [Connect Shopify](/docs/app-owners/connect-shopify) and [Verify data sources](/docs/app-owners/source-verification).
4. Add merchant identification or optional activity through [Developer integration](/docs/developers). Affiliate install matching uses its own [tracking setup](/docs/app-owners/affiliate-tracking).
5. Create a draft affiliate program and finish its readiness checks before activation.

## Expected result

A workspace with the intended app, observed Shopify history and an explicit status for each optional source. Affiliate earnings require approved referrals, saved terms and eligible collections; creating the workspace alone does not create them.



## Troubleshooting
